Accompanied by her sentries and following her radar-like senses, Ant seeks out the Nuclear Throne in the hopes of getting back at those who have betrayed her in the past!

Ant is an unusually campy mutant who excels at clearing out rooms with her sentries from behind cover, as well as efficiently mapping out plans of attack using her radar sense. Just be careful not to get caught in your own crossfire in the heat of battle...

ACTIVE: Deploy Sentry

Send out a sentry equipped with your primary weapon that you can remotely control. Ant can have up to 2 sentries out at a time, and can switch control between them as you would switch between weapons normally. Make sure to retrieve your weapon by deactivating them!

Throne Butt: Remotely return weapons from sentries

PASSIVE: Radar Sense

Ant can track the position of offscreen enemies. Use this to better plan out your movement, anticipate enemy attacks, get some cheeky offscreen snipes, or even find where that last blasted Raven went.

Special thanks to YellowAfterlife for making NTT and its documentation, and Yokin for making the Fish example mod I used as the base to make Ant.

Additional thanks to the Nuclear Throne community for their programming advice, as well as everyone from whomst I "borrowed" some code from, including GoldenEpsilon, Dragonstrive, Lettusce, McChonk, and 42ndPotato!

Install instructions:

  • Requires Nuclear Throne Together.
  • Unzip the "Ant" folder and move it to Nuclear Throne's "mods" folder.
  • In game, type "/load ant".

While I really like the character concept, there seems to be a weird offset between where the sentry aims and where my cursor is. The aim just doesn't work quite right.

Ah right! The sentry doesn't aim towards the cursor, but rather mimics the angle Ant herself is aiming towards the cursor: this was done to allow full 360° control of the sentry's aim regardless of its position on or off screen, as well as to make it easier to use with controller aiming.

Hope this helps! If it still doesn't feel quite right don't hesitate to tell me, and I could work on an optional alternate control scheme.

While that definitely explains it I would definitely like to have the option to have it aim towards the mouse’s position as I use mouse and keyboard instead of a controller because of the precision aim I can get from placing my cursor directly on opponents and losing that really messes with my play style.

After learning the ins and outs of the character with a more traditional control scheme I might try to see if I can get more strategic utility with the 360 one.
